In 2019, we worked with the 5th grade class and CLC parents to complete an entrance beautification project. A tile mural was designed to serve as an entrance sign. California native plants (Deergrass, Matilija poppy and Ceanothus) were planted along the exterior fence line. The goal of this project was to create a welcoming entrance for students, staff and volunteers. The tile mural depicts native flora and fauna of Laguna Beach and was designed based on research submitted by 5th grade classes and also funded by the 5th grade class. The native plantings were designed, planted and funded by Community Learning Center parents. With deep, hand watering for the first year, the native plants will grow up to 10 feet tall and require very little watering thereafter.
